A periodontal examination describes oral health; it does not establish systemic disease. Medora is being developed to add an inflammatory-risk screening signal alongside periodontal findings and medical history.
The Intended Path from Chairside Screening to Follow-Up
Medora is being developed to provide a rapid inflammatory-risk screening result during the dental visit, helping clinicians communicate risk more clearly and consider appropriate medical follow-up when indicated.
Collect a Fingerstick Sample
A small blood sample is collected from the patient at the dental visit.
Prepare the Sample
The sample is prepared and applied to the Medora cassette.
Analyze Two Complementary Signals
The proprietary dual-biomarker technology evaluates the inflammatory-risk signal.
Receive a Binary Result
The intended binary screening signal would be read in approximately 15 minutes.
Discuss Appropriate Follow-Up
The result is reviewed alongside the patient's complete clinical context.
This proposed workflow requires validation and applicable authorization before clinical use. Any future result would be considered with the full clinical assessment; it would not automatically direct treatment or referral.
