Science & Development

Scientific Context.
Clear Development Requirements.

Our focus connects periodontal findings, inflammatory biomarkers, and oral–systemic health research. Published associations provide a scientific rationale; they do not establish the performance or clinical benefit of a finished product.

Medora: investigational physical test

Medora is under development, has not been cleared or approved by the U.S. FDA, and is not currently available for clinical use or sale.

Fingerstick sampling, a binary screening signal, approximately 15-minute results, and use without a separate reader are design targets that require verification in the finished product.

OraDx AI: research platform

OraDx AI is a separate AI-assisted biomedical research platform for organizing and exploring clinical, periodontal, biomarker, and microbiome data.

OraDx AI is under development for research use. Exploratory findings and research predictions are not validated clinical diagnoses or medical advice.

Scientific Background & Product Development

Published oral–systemic research provides scientific background. Medora’s performance and clinical usefulness require product-specific validation.

Background Science

Peer-reviewed research describing associations among periodontal inflammation, systemic inflammatory burden, and cardiovascular health.

Background scientific evidence

Assay Development

Medora’s investigational screening methodology is under development. Its performance must be established through product-specific validation.

Development program

Prospective Product Validation

Product-specific validation is needed to establish analytical performance, fingerstick-to-reference agreement, reliability in dental-office workflows, and clinical usefulness.

Validation requirements

Featured Peer-Reviewed Publications

Background scientific evidence — these publications describe the oral–systemic research landscape; they are not direct validation of Medora.

These publications provide scientific background and are not product validation. Explore the Science & Development page for development requirements, or browse Publications.

What Medora Needs to Establish

Validation must address the finished test and its intended setting. These are development requirements; regulatory submission and commercial introduction depend on the required evidence and applicable review.

Analytical performance

Establish reliable detection, reproducibility, interference handling, and test-control performance.

Sample and reference agreement

Verify the finished fingerstick test against appropriate reference methods.

Clinical usefulness

Evaluate how a screening signal adds useful information alongside periodontal findings and medical history.

Dental-office workflow

Evaluate collection, preparation, interpretation, and practical use in the intended setting.

Browse Publications for scholarly work, or Articles for general education. Background research does not establish an individual diagnosis or prove that Medora improves outcomes.
